Lately...

Life has been BUSY and we are slowly starting to get into a normal routine again. We moved into our new house and we are loving it!
September is birthday month.... so many bday's in our family. Breanne and I took my mom out for her Birthday to Jaliscos!

When we moved we put Laynie in a big girl bed! She has done so well and she loves sleeping in her bed. She falls asleep every night with Elmer snuggling her. It is pretty sweet!

My favorite little people on the planet...

When we moved we also got another night nurse. Holly was cutting back a little so now we have two nurses and we love them. We are just using nursing at night now 5 nights a week.

We participated in a radiothon for Primary Children's Hospital. They asked us to come in and share Laynie's story on the radio. Laynie was in heaven playing with this stuff. Her smile shows just how happy she was:) They raised over $60k. We really love Primary Children's!!!

Playdates are now AWESOME since we have a finished basement for them to play in.

First day of kindergarten

Drake started kindergarten this year. How did this happen already? I have been dreading this day since he was born. He was so ready and excited to go. He was brave and never looked back. I was so proud of him. And I didn't even cry- I thought I would, but I didn't!!!
It's sad that kids grow up so fast, but it is so fun to watch at the same time!!!

His teacher is Mrs. Paulson and she had her baby 10 weeks early after the first day of school. I guess the kindergarteners put her over the edge:(
SO he has had a lot of substitutes. He is liking it though!

Drake lost his first tooth

Drake lost his first tooth. Sometimes it's weird when I realize that I have a child that is old enough for the tooth fairy to come! The tooth fairy brought him $4 and he already has another loose tooth!

Daphne 3 months

This little girl is getting chunkier and cuter by the minute. Everyone comments on her squeezable cheeks and her adorable dimples! She is laughing a lot now and is very smiley. In my opinion, she has been a very difficult baby, but she is getting a little better (some days). She actually sleeps really well at night, but she is a terrible napper and she really hates her car seat!

I love my girls

I love my girls and I really love that Laynie loves her sister. I truly thought she would not like having a baby around at all, but I was so wrong. She loves her!!!

Happy 4th Birthday Laynie

 Happy Birthday to my beautiful Laynie!!!!

 

 

You are 4 years old today! You are turning into such an incredible little girl. You love life more than anyone I know and also work harder than anyone I know. You have worked so hard this past year and have really progressed. Your balance is so much better and you have now mastered stairs (with holding onto a railing). You work hard to do whatever your brother is doing. If he is out of your sight for just a few seconds you coming signing his name and asking me where he is. You won't let him do anything without you! And you are keeping up so much better these days! It's amazing to watch! Your personality is my favorite. You are happy, feisty, spunky, and sweet. You love to dance, especially when you are watching your favorite TV show The Fresh Beat Band. It is adorable! You can hear well from your cochlear implant and you make a lot of noise, but no words yet. You still sign quite a bit, but we are still working on learning a lot more. You LOVE your family and we all love you too! You have a unique and special relationship with all of us. You will be starting preschool this fall and I am so excited and nervous for you. You love to play with other kids so I hope you enjoy it! You have done amazingly well adjusting to your new baby sister. You really love her a lot! You amaze us all and you also amaze all your doctors. You had such a quiet year with doctor's appointments and have actually gone a whole year now without having a surgery:) You have taught us all so much and we are so incredibly grateful to have you in our family. You are the perfect angel of our family and we all adore you and admire you sooooooo much. Thank you for being my daughter and teaching me to be more loving, caring, empathetic, and strong! Your dad and I love you so much Laynie Bug!!! Happy 4th Birthday sweetheart!

 

Cabin reunion

We had a family reunion last week at Trevor's family cabin. It was so relaxing and so much fun! It rained a lot but we kind of enjoyed the rain!

We took the kids to go ride a horse. Drake LOVED it so much and I really thought Laynie would like it but she would not go near it. She signed horse a million times, but she wouldn't sit on it or pet it. Horses are her favorite animal so I thought she would love it.

We also fed some goats and a miniature horse. All the kids had a blast!

We hung out at the cabin most of the time and played with cousins, ate lots of junk, and relaxed!!

Drake was excited to go fishing with uncle Jordan. They had fun, but didn't catch any fish.

2 months!!!

Daphne is 2 months old.

She is our little chunk. She is smiling a LOT now and starting a goo a little! She is starting to be a little happier and less grumpy, but she has a hard time napping and it makes her grumpy because she is always tired. I always dreamed of having one of those kids that you see sleeping in a shopping cart, but all my kids are so afraid they are going to miss something if they fall asleep!

I am in love with her dimples and chubby cheeks. She is as cute as can be and is starting to get a lot stronger.

Catching up...

Trevor and Drake did some backyard camping. They roasted s'mores and slept in a tent. Trevor is such a great daddy:)

Drake is so tender and sweet with Daphne. She loves to smile at him. He thinks its awesome when she flashes a cheesy grin at him.

Every once in awhile these two play super well together. I love it when that happens!

We went to the Bike for Kids bike race where Laynie got her bike last year and did the family bike ride. It was a great time!

They have lunch and a carnival afterwards and the kids think its the best time ever! It was pretty hot and we had a crabby baby so we didn't stay too long, but it was a good time.
