Kitty Litter

We went to a Halloween party last night with some friends and this is the delicious treat that I brought!!! It's kitty litter cake.... isn't is disgusting looking??? Don't worry, I washed my cat's litter box and pooper scooper before using it for this. Just kidding.... they were new, I promise!!!
Here is the recipe:

Ingredients:
1 (18.25 ounce) package German chocolate cake mix
1 (18.25 ounce) package white cake mix
2 (3.5 ounce) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
1 (12 ounce) package vanilla sandwich cookies
3 drops green food coloring
1 (12 ounce) package tootsie rolls
Directions:
Prepare cake mixes and bake according to package directions (any size pan).
Prepare pudding according to package directions and chill until ready to assemble.
Crumble sandwich cookies in small batches in a food processor, scraping often. Set aside all but 1/4 cup. To the 1/4 cup add a few drops of green food coloring and mix.
When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble them into a large bowl. Toss with 1/2 of the remaining cookie crumbs, and the chilled pudding. You probably won't need all of the pudding, you want the cake to be just moist, not soggy.
Put cake mixture into litter box.
Put half of the unwrapped tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until softened. Shape the ends so that they are no longer blunt, and curve the tootsie rolls slightly. Bury tootsie rolls randomly in the cake and sprinkle with half of the remaining cookie crumbs. Sprinkle a small amount of the green colored cookie crumbs lightly over the top.
Heat 3 or 4 of the tootsie rolls in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake and sprinkle lightly with some of the green cookie crumbs. Heat the remaining tootsie rolls until pliable and shape as before. Spread all but one randomly over top of cake mixture. Sprinkle with any remaining cookie crumbs. Hang the remaining tootsie roll over side of litter box and sprinkle with a few green cookie crumbs. Serve with the pooper scooper for a gross Halloween dessert.

Indoor bound...

It's only October and we already miss being able to play outside. This is going to be a long winter.................
Playing with cousin Clancy

Good thing we have good friends right around the corner.

Elmer and Drake are best buds. They love each other so much. Elmer is so nice to Drake and Drake tries to be nice to Elmer... They love giving each other kisses!

Drake loves to shove anything that he can find and that will fit in the VCR. And he also loves pushing it off onto the floor. Little stinker!

Emptying the toy box.
Playing in the curtains. We just love his goofy smile!
Ohhhh summer we miss you already!!!!!!!

Germaphobia

Our family has turned into major germaphobes!!! It seems like everywhere you go and everyone you talk to that EVERYONE is sick. Well, I got sick last week with the stomach flu and Trevor turned into a sanitizing freak. Luckily, he was able to stay home from work to take care of Drake. He locked me upstairs and sanitized the entire down stairs... including the couch 3 times!!! He is still worried about touching things like the toothpaste because I touched them while I was sick (5 days ago).... I have been laughing at him a little, but thankfully him and Drake didn't get sick!!! We are also very worried about the Swine Flu. It seems so horrible. We are hoping that we can get the vaccine, but not counting on it! I am finding myself not even wanting to go out into crowded places as much. We are probably all just paranoid. For now, we will just keep washing our hands until they crack!

ALL ABOUT DRAKE:
He is VERY energetic, just like his Dad
He has the cutest big gap top teeth!
He waves bye bye
He gives high fives
He says mamma, dadda, and no no to the dogs when they bark
He can throw away his diapers in the trash
He loves playing in the cupboards
He can open anything- we have to be careful with this one
He won't sit still for even 30 seconds
He loves it when I sing "You are my Sunshine"
He is still a horrible sleeper at night
He likes to eat the dogfood
He loves his brother Elmer and gives him french kisses :)
He likes to talk on the phone and holds it up to his ear
He does not like talking animals or toys
He loves his blankies
He is very loved by his family!!!

I love this poem.............

Before I was a Mom;
I made and ate hot meals,
I had unstained clothing,
I brushed my hair every day,
I had quiet conversations on the phone,
I slept as late as I wanted and I slept all night long.
Before I was a Mom;
I cleaned my house each day,
I never tripped over toys or forgot lullabies,
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous,
I had never been puked on, pooped on, spit on, chewed on, peed on,
or pinched by tiny fingers.
Before I was a Mom;
I never thought about immunizations,
I never held a screaming child so the doctors could give shots,
I never looked into teary eyes and cried,
I never felt my heart break into pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt,
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
Before I was a Mom;
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down,
I never sat up late hours of the night watching a baby sleep,
I never got up in the middle of the night to make sure everything was okay,
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
Before I was a Mom;
I had complete control of my mind, my thoughts and my body,
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside of my body,
I didn't know that having something so small could make me feel so important,
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment, or the satisfaction of being a mom.
Before I was a Mom;
I never knew that something so small could effect my life so much,
I never knew that I could love someone so much,
I never knew I would love being a Mom,
I didn't know the bond between a Mother and her child,
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much.

Goose-Egg

Poor guy..... I think he is going to be one of those kids who breaks every bone in his body!

My Obsession!

I inherited a cleaning gene from my mother, and it looks like I have passed it down to Drake! Lately I have had a major obsession with cleaning. When Drake goes down for his nap I get down to business. It is so relaxing and fulfilling for me to turn on the TV to the country music station, light a pumpkin spice candle, open the blinds so it's bright, and clean like crazy (I even do a little dancing- haha). When Drake started to crawl I noticed that the tops of his feet would be black by the end of the night and it made me sick. Ever since, I sweep and mop my floors every other day! The smell of a clean house is my favorite smell! I know I'm crazy but I'm just really loving it lately and I got these cute pictures of my little helper! Drake LOVES the broom but I don't let him play with it cause it's so dirty, so we got him a little one for his B-Day!
What a big helper!

He loves the vaccum too. He isn't even afraid of it!
