Our Birthday Boy Turns 2!!!

Well, this was the cute B-Day invitation for Drake's party. We were planning on having a JuNgLe PaRtY! But... Trevor and I decided (after handing out the invitations) that we probably shouldn't have 25 people over to our house and risk Laynie getting sick. It is so close to her surgery and we just didn't want to expose her to anything! We feel so bad for not giving Drake the party that he deserves, but we will just have to PARTY, PARTY, PARTY by ourselves!!! We will make it up to you next year buddy!

Last week's happenings!

Hmmm... it seems like every post is filled with random pictures. Here is another one...

Drake LOVES his Papa Petersen! He came over the other night and these two played outside for hours. Grandpa took him on a four-wheeler ride and Drake loved it! Drake made Grandpa take off his shoes so he could wear them. Drake knows that Papa will do whatever he wants!!!

These fall nights have been awesome. The temperature has been perfect! I wish it was like this year round. Sadly, our winter is creeping up on us :(This little girl turned 7!!!

One pound!!!

It's time to celebrate at our house... Little Laynie has now gained one pound since she has been born!!! She weighed in at 6lbs 13oz this morning. We have been working hard to try to get her some fat rolls on her body. I have been putting a scoop of formula in with her breast milk and that is helping a little. She now has one more pound to gain and she will weigh the same as Drake when he was born. I hope it doesn't take another 6 weeks. We haven't been up to much lately. We have been extra careful about Laynie not getting sick, and just our luck... Trevor got a cold! He stayed away from Laynie for 10 days and luckily none of the rest of us got it!!!

This little girl is a mad, angry, and sad girl... The doctor says she most likely just has bad colic. We have tried a different formula, an acid reflux medicine, and mylicon drops. Nothing seems to help. Any suggestions??? She is so sweet and I hate to see her in pain. She usually cries for 3 hours in the morning and then 3 hours in the evening. Luckily, she usually doesn't have her fits during the night.

Drake found his shadow and thinks it is pretty cool! I am loving the age he is at... He is SO FUNNY all the time! Trevor and I laugh at him even after he goes to sleep.

All about Drake...

My little boy is really becoming a big boy right before my eyes. He will be 2 next month, but I think he has been in his "terrible two's" for a couple of months now! He makes me laugh every day, he is a great big brother, an awesome "helper", a daddy copy-cater, and a super sweet little boy.

This picture makes him look so old. It almost looks like a school picture.
He has long-lasting lipstick on in this picture. He gets into Grandma's purse and puts this on every time we see her.... so he usually has a little all over his face every day. It stays on for like 3 days!!!
This picture was a Grandma's house when I was in the hospital having Laynie. My mom said she let him play in her make-up and he was in heaven! She put in up to the mirror to show him his wonderful make-up skills and he was frightened by the way he looked. She said she started laughing hysterically, but he wouldn't crack a smile and was scared. haha!!

Some of the things that Drake loves at the moment:

• He loves Ice Age and Madagscar. He finally started watching TV and it is wonderful!
  


• He loves the moon. He looks for it every night and we have to say goodnight to it. If it isn't out, then we have one sad little boy!




• He loves to put on deodorant (dodant).




• He loves to brush his teeth and insists on having real toothpaste (pase). He loves the mint flavor. He also loves gum (bum) and mints.




• He loves poo-poo. Nasty, I know but he loves to find doggy poo-poo outside. If we don't clean it up fast enough he will get it with his shovel. Sometimes he tries to put in the poo-poo box and sometimes I find him trying to bring it inside!!!




• He loves the tag on his blanky. He has quite the bedtime ritual- which I will decribe below!
  
  
  
• He loves the copy his dad. He does push-ups and crunches with him every night. It is the CUTEST thing I have ever seen!




• He loves to help clean. He vacuums and sweeps and he even lifts the rugs to clean under them.

• He loves watching Signing Time (sign language movie) and knows ALL of the signs. If I ask him any of them he can do them. It is amazing!
  

The next picture....... I will explain!!!His bed-time ritual is a little strange. He has a HUGE OBSESSION with his phones. He has 5 phones and carries them EVERYWHERE! He has to have all 5 phones lined up in his bed. He recently stole this ruby from his cousins and also has to have it in his bed. The tag of his blanket has to be in his hand and also has to have his stuffed doggy by him. Then he gets a ba-ba (I know, he is too old for one) and then goes to sleep. He is doing so much better sleeping, but still has a couple of issues. He wakes up a couple times a night and sometimes makes noise and sometimes we find him walking around (super creepy). He sometimes comes and just slams our door or tries to get in the fridge for some more milk. haha. He really is so funny.

We sure do love our little man and love seeing what he is up to next!

One Month...

Wow- my baby girl is one month old. Time flies so fast! She has been such a JOY to have in our family and I couldn't imagine life without her! My friend Whitney came over and took some super cute pictures of her.... Thanks Whitney!

The BIG 5-0!!!

My mom turned 50 on September 4th!!! Happy Birthday Mom- we love your guts!!!!
