Mother's Day 2010
Mother's Day has always been such a special day to me because I honestly have the BEST mom in the world! The last couple of years have also made it even more special because I am now a mother! Words cannot express the way I feel about my mom. She is the ultimate example to me and has helped me become the mother I am today. I just love her so much! Thanks for everything mom!
Trevor's mom was out of town so we weren't able to celebrate with her on Sunday. She is also such an amazing mother. She knows how to take care of her kids, even when they are 26 years old. Sometimes she meets Trevor for a Big Mac at midnight. She also makes me feel so comfortable and treats me just like her own daughter. Thanks for all you do for us Maureen. We love you!
Becoming a mother has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love it so much! Drake owns my heart and I love him so much. He makes me laugh everyday and I just love watching him learn new things. Motherhood is so rewarding. I also feel so blessed to have another little baby coming. I am excited for this little girl to join our family. It is amazing how much love you have to give to a little child. I never knew I was capable of loving so much. Being a mother is the best gift in the world, I love it!!!!!
We celebrated Mother's Day at my Uncle Don's house and we had fondue. It was delicious and we all had a great time!
My Grandma, mom, and me. My Grandma is also such a wonderful lady. She is so kind, funny, and loving. These ladies are both great examples to me.

Visit to California
We went to visit my Dad, step-mom Erin and little brother Matt in California. We had a great time relaxing, enjoying the great company, and enjoying the warmer weather!
We were a little nervous to take Drake on the plane, but he did so great. He is afraid of planes whenever he sees them flying and I kept asking/telling him that we were going to fly on an airplane and he would shake his head NO! He didn't notice we were on a plane until about half way through the flight. He was looking out the window and I said, "We are on an airplane. We are flying in the sky". He looked at me with a huge shock on his face like, you have got to be kidding me. It was funny.

Drake was sooooo happy to FINALLY get there. It was a long day of traveling, but he did so awesome!
We all loved the warm weather. It was fun to play outside in the backyard.

Drake loved playing with daddy in the backyard.
We also got to meet up with some of our best friends for a delicious dinner at P.F. Changs. There were some more people here, but they had to leave before our photo session began!

Drake loved P.F. Changs, just like his parents.
Kylee and Calyn
Donnie, Kylee, and Stockton came over after dinner for a little chatting and swimming. The little boys had a blast swimming and playing together. Drake loved Stockton. He is a little older than Drake, so Drake would just copy whatever he did.
We also got to see Matt in a swim meet. He plays water polo and also swims. We were cheering for him and called him "The Torpedo in a Speedo".
At the swim meet. Go Matt!
Drake was in love with their dog Amber. He is so nice and gentle to dogs! He must have been missing his own little doggies.

They had recently torn the old cabin down and rebuilt a beautiful new cabin. We had a great time there. The new cabin was amazing!
Well...... we were hoping to bring the warm weather back with us, but we were unsuccessful. We had a wonderful time and we can't wait to visit again!

Drake's sneaky new trick
Drake has figured out how to open up the back door and go outside. Normally I don't mind, but every once in awhile it really frustrates me that I can't keep him inside!
Step #1: Reach up, unlock the door and open it
Step #2: Put the dogs in a headlock and drag them outside

Our ultrasound...
We had our complete ultrasound last week to check on all the parts of the baby. Our baby is still a GIRL! We are so excited. We also found out some unfortunate and shocking news about her……
She has a left unilateral cleft lip and a cleft palate. We are so heartbroken that our little angel will have to go through so much after birth. We feel so blessed that it isn’t anything more serious, but it is still so hard to imagine. We know that it is something that is completely fixable and we are so grateful for that! We just can’t imagine putting our little baby into surgery. She will most likely have 3-4 surgeries in her first year of life and then more as she gets a little older. Her first surgery will most likely be when she is about 6 weeks old. All of the surgeries are done in Salt Lake City. Children with clefts also may have difficulty eating, speech problems, chronic ear infections, or dental problems. When we heard the news, we sort of thought it would be one quick surgery, but that is not the case unfortunately. As far as the ultrasound could tell, she is healthy in every other way. Throughout my life I have always had a strong feeling that I would have a child with some sort of special needs. I have NEVER said this out loud to a soul, because I sure wouldn’t wish this on any of my children. I had no clue that it would be something like this though. In her own way, she will have certain special needs. I am soooooo sensitive and I don’t know how I’m going to make it through these surgeries. I cry at everything, even commercials!!! I just don’t feel like I am a strong enough person, but I know everything will work out fine. This may sound weird, but I truly feel so much closer to this baby after hearing this news. Maybe it is that natural protection that every mother has. I am so thankful and excited to be her mom. I already love her so much! I know she will teach me so much, and hopefully help me become a better person and a better mother. I am so thankful for my husband, mom, family, and our loving Heavenly Father to help us get through this journey!

New things!

Our life has been crazy busy lately! We moved again about a week ago. We moved into our old neighborhood and we love it here! We love our new house and love the neighborhood and ward.
Also, I am working a little bit now too! I just work at a doctor's office 2 evenings a week (from 4-8). And I usually work 1 Saturday a month too! It is the perfect amount of hours for me and I can still stay home with Drake. It is working out great!

Easter
We had a great Easter Sunday. We spent the day getting dressed up, eating brunch at the Shilo, watching conference, spending time with family, and relaxing. It was a great day!
Drake was excited about the basket that the Easter Bunny left for him! He even hid a few eggs for him.... (scattered on the couch)
Drake woke up grumpy and not feeling well. He was a trooper though. Poor little guy!
