Drake's sneaky new trick
Drake has figured out how to open up the back door and go outside. Normally I don't mind, but every once in awhile it really frustrates me that I can't keep him inside!

Our ultrasound...
We had our complete ultrasound last week to check on all the parts of the baby. Our baby is still a GIRL! We are so excited. We also found out some unfortunate and shocking news about her……
She has a left unilateral cleft lip and a cleft palate. We are so heartbroken that our little angel will have to go through so much after birth. We feel so blessed that it isn’t anything more serious, but it is still so hard to imagine. We know that it is something that is completely fixable and we are so grateful for that! We just can’t imagine putting our little baby into surgery. She will most likely have 3-4 surgeries in her first year of life and then more as she gets a little older. Her first surgery will most likely be when she is about 6 weeks old. All of the surgeries are done in Salt Lake City. Children with clefts also may have difficulty eating, speech problems, chronic ear infections, or dental problems. When we heard the news, we sort of thought it would be one quick surgery, but that is not the case unfortunately. As far as the ultrasound could tell, she is healthy in every other way. Throughout my life I have always had a strong feeling that I would have a child with some sort of special needs. I have NEVER said this out loud to a soul, because I sure wouldn’t wish this on any of my children. I had no clue that it would be something like this though. In her own way, she will have certain special needs. I am soooooo sensitive and I don’t know how I’m going to make it through these surgeries. I cry at everything, even commercials!!! I just don’t feel like I am a strong enough person, but I know everything will work out fine. This may sound weird, but I truly feel so much closer to this baby after hearing this news. Maybe it is that natural protection that every mother has. I am so thankful and excited to be her mom. I already love her so much! I know she will teach me so much, and hopefully help me become a better person and a better mother. I am so thankful for my husband, mom, family, and our loving Heavenly Father to help us get through this journey!

New things!

Our life has been crazy busy lately! We moved again about a week ago. We moved into our old neighborhood and we love it here! We love our new house and love the neighborhood and ward.
Also, I am working a little bit now too! I just work at a doctor's office 2 evenings a week (from 4-8). And I usually work 1 Saturday a month too! It is the perfect amount of hours for me and I can still stay home with Drake. It is working out great!

Easter
We had a great Easter Sunday. We spent the day getting dressed up, eating brunch at the Shilo, watching conference, spending time with family, and relaxing. It was a great day!
Drake was excited about the basket that the Easter Bunny left for him! He even hid a few eggs for him.... (scattered on the couch)
Drake woke up grumpy and not feeling well. He was a trooper though. Poor little guy!

Girl's Weekend!!!
I was invited on a girl's trip to Salt Lake City last weekend by some friends, but unfortunately I wasn't able to go. I was bummed about it so I planned a girl's trip to SLC with my mom and sisters. We have NEVER done this before since any of us have had kids/been married so it was so much fun! I have never left Drake for longer than 4 hours so it was really hard for me to leave him. I cried all the way over to my mom's house about it and I called Trevor 12 times on Saturday (he counted). Thank you so much for taking care of Drake and letting me go Trevor- you seriously are the best husband in the world! We left Saturday morning and shopped all day long. It was a dream come true to shop with no kids. We ate at Tepanyaki (our favorite place) and then we watched a movie in the hotel. Then we came home on Sunday. It was such a blast! It helps that I was with three awesome ladies! I love my mom and sisters!!!
Me and my beautiful mommy
Me and my sister Breanne. It was fun to just lounge in the hotel after a long day of shopping and eating!!
Thanks for the trip mom

Playing outside
We have been playing outside every time we get a semi-warm day. Drake is loving getting out of the house and exploring outside. The only problem we have is a HUGE temper tantrum when it's time to come inside!
Please spring warm up so we can go out and play more!!!

CrAzY dReAmS...
They say the when you are pregnant you have wild and vivid dreams. I am one of those people who never has dreams, but lately I am in dream land while I sleep!!! I don't really like it because most of the dreams are bad dreams. I just thought I would share where my imagination was last night...
Dream #1: I was in a forest with people (don't remember who) and there was a huge fire... I had to use all of my survival skills. For example, eating bugs, going potty in the forest, starting a fire with rocks and sticks even though there was a huge forest fire, and running away from scary forest animals. It wasn't a very fun dream!
Dream #2: Some mean person (unfortunately I don't remember who) made me lick a fire hydrant clean after a huge pack of dogs peed all over it. Why in the world would I dream about this?
Dream #3: The last dream, I was obsessing about writing on a poster board and hanging it on a strangers house. I was advertising for a girl's night out. I couldn't quite write well enough for my liking and I was very ticked off about it.
Let's hope I can sleep dream-less from now on.... Or at least have pleasant dreams.

Just a start...
Anyone that knows me well, knows that our little girl is going to have the hugest hair bow and pinkest outfit on at all times. I am so excited for this little girl to come. I haven't wasted any time, and I started on her bow collection! When we found out that Drake was going to be a boy I said to Trevor, "It's probably a good thing that our first one isn't a girl, because I think I would kind of feel bad for her because I would dress her up ALL THE TIME." I thought by the time the second one rolled around, the excitment of changing your baby all the time would calm down.... But I don't think so. I think it is just a GIRL thing! Don't worry, I really won't torture her... too much!

Little Things....
I haven't taken any pictures lately because we haven't been doing anything exciting. I just wanted to write about the "little things" that I LOVE.............
- I love it that Trevor and I can still stay up talking for hours (till 2am) in bed about when we first met, and how we each can remember what each other was wearing on our first date. He also reassures me that he thought I was the cutest out of all my friends, even though he tried to date two of them before me (Stinker)!!!
- I love when Drake blows uncontrollable kisses to the world as I'm walking him up the stairs to go "night-night".
- I love it that Drake gets super upset if Trevor and I are wrestling around...... and always wants to save me even if I'm the one who is hurting Trevor. haha
- I love talking to my mom on the phone a million times a day about nothing.
- I love it that I saw Trevor cry in a movie for the first time ever the other day.... And it was because a man's wife had died and I just thought it was so sweet (sorry Trev).
- I love getting unexpected e-mails from friends that I haven't heard from in forever.
- I love looking at Drake and almost get tears in my eyes because I can't believe I've been blessed with such an adorable, amazing, sweet, healthy boy!!!

Weekend tidbits...
We went on a date over the weekend!!! We went to see Avatar finally. It was a good movie, but not really my type of show. I am more into the romantic-comedies!! But we had a great time and Drake had a great time with Grandma and Grandpa Petersen!
Just us two! We weren't looking our best (haha) but we still had fun!
Can you tell I was excited??? We hadn't been on a date in FOREVER so it was much needed!
Drake has been taking really long naps lately..... not that I'm complaining! After he woke up from his nap, Trevor went to get him and he fell right back to sleep. He has fallen asleep on our laps probably one or two other times ever!! Trevor was loving it! Also, I would like to proudly announce that he is completely done nursing. It has been a little over a week and he is doing great. But now I have him addicted to bottles. Oh well, we are taking it one step at a time I guess.

Drake's 1st Haircut
This was Drake's 1st real haircut. I have trimmed up his mohawk before, but never really fully cut his hair. Although he still looks like he doesn't have much hair, he was starting to get some really long hairs.
This is the before picture. He was starting to look like an old man that was losing his hair. Poor guy... so I made him look much more handsome!!
He enjoyed his haircut by eating candy in his highchair!
There was much more than this, but I had do document how sweet and fine his little hair is!

Wow.... Sexy boy!!!!

Valentine Getaway

Our little family went to West Yellowstone for a little Valentine stay! It was so fun to get away, it was so pretty, and we had so much fun!
My two Valentine's!!!
We went swimming lots and Drake loved it! His favorite thing was to jump in to daddy!
There was even a kiddie pool which he thought was super cool!
Weekend fun!

Our favorite Christmas present!!!
Two days before Christmas I found out we were expecting our second baby!!!! I was so excited, but I wanted to wait and tell Trevor a special way on Christmas... Well, I was way too excited and I couldn't wait. I immediately wrote up this silly card and told Trevor. We were both very surprised and very happy! I guess you can say it was a perfect Christmas gift for the both of us. We are super excited! This baby will be joining our family at the end of August. It is so weird to look at Drake and think he is going to be a big brother. We feel so blessed and we are so excited!!!!

A love/hate relationship
Drake does not like to watch TV very much yet (unfortunately)..... My mom has this DVD called "Baby Songs" that she let us borrow, and it is a bunch of annoying songs and kids from the 80's. All I can say, is it is MAGICAL!!! Drake goes into a trance when this is on and he will watch nothing else. Me and him have been sick the last couple of days and this has been playing a lot- just so I can get him to lay down for a short time! I love it and hate it at the same time!!
